Youjia Study Room

The You Family Study Room is a cultural relic protection unit of Xinxiang City.

The You family built their fortune from the land. Noticing that the southern bank of the Wei River was an auspicious site, they established their homestead here, which has a history of over 250 years. This study room was built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty.

The You Family Study Room is designed in the form of a traditional three-sided courtyard, featuring a main hall, side rooms, and a gate tower. The main hall is constructed with lattice windows and doors, decorative facades, hanging columns with dragon motifs, and brick carvings. The craftsmanship is exquisite, the structure is rigorous, and it embodies the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty. The study room and side rooms have suffered severe alkali erosion on the walls due to age, and the eastern side room has been modified by residents into a two-story building, but the gate tower remains well-preserved. The overall Qing Dynasty architectural features of the study room are rarely seen in our city and are unique within the urban area, holding significant artistic and ornamental value.
