Yuanhui Christian Church

Yuanhui Christian Church is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Henan Province.

The Christian church is located on the south bank of the Sha River along Binhe Road in Yuanhui District and is a provincial-level cultural heritage site. The church faces north, with a length of 26 meters from south to north and a width of 15 meters from east to west, covering a land area of 390 square meters and a building area of 719 square meters. It stands 13 meters high and features a composite structure of brick and wood.

The Christian church was first built in 1912 under the direction of Swiss missionaries dispatched by the United States and local Chinese pastors, and was funded through donations from local believers. It has a history of over 100 years. The interior is divided into three levels. Originally, there was a bell tower on the east side of the façade. The ground floor served as office and living quarters, the second floor housed the worship hall, and the third floor functioned as an observation deck. A cross and a large bell were installed atop the bell tower. The exterior of the church follows a Romanesque architectural style, with Roman-style columns featured in every bay, and the tops of the doors and windows are shaped in classic Western parabolic ovals. The roof truss structure is supported by intersecting diagonal beams, and the roof is covered with alloy iron sheeting.
