The former residence of Zhang Boju is a cultural heritage site protected by Henan Province.

The former residence of Zhang Boju (including Lianxi Academy, his alma mater) is located on East Street in Moling Town, Xiangcheng City. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty. The former residence of Zhang Boju (including Lianxi Academy) is listed as part of the seventh batch of cultural heritage protection units in Henan Province.

Moling Town: Located in the central-southern part of the city, Moling Town is bordered by Laocheng Township on all sides. It governs 4 neighborhood committees and 4 suburban administrative villages, covering an area of 4.79 square kilometers, with 2,550 mu of arable land and a population of 14,737, of which 13,088 are non-agricultural. It is a town with a relatively large Hui ethnic population.

According to historical records: In the third year of the Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty (1428), the former county seat of Xiangcheng was relocated here from Huaihuang Store (now Huaidian in Shenqiu County), where it remained for as long as 525 years. During the Republican era, it was known as Chengguan District, and in 1942, it was briefly called Moling Town.
