The Former Site of the Peasant Revolutionary Uprising in Neihuang County is a cultural heritage protection unit of Henan Province.

The Former Site of the Peasant Revolutionary Uprising in Neihuang County dates back to 1928 and is located in Neihuang County. The Former Site of the Peasant Revolutionary Uprising in Qixian County is among the first batch of cultural heritage protection units in Henan Province.

The Wen Family Ancestral Hall, located in Wenxinggu Village, Liucun Township, Neihuang County, is a memorial site of the Neihuang Peasant Revolution. Currently, three ancestral hall rooms remain, with the entrance gate being an old-style ridged-roof gate tower, on which hangs a plaque reading “Wen Family Ancestral Hall.”

In the winter of 1928, under the leadership of the Puyang County Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Peasant Association settled accounts with Cai Hongbin, the head of the local militia, over his crimes, achieving victory in the struggle. On February 15 of the following year, a celebration assembly was held at the Wen Family Ancestral Hall, attended by over 3,000 peasants from villages along both banks of the Xiaohé River. Unexpectedly, the traitor Cai Zhaolin (son of Cai Hongbin) betrayed the event, leading to the militia suddenly surrounding the venue. During the clash, four members including the Communist Party member and Peasant Association member Zhao Suocheng were killed, and many others were injured. Leading members of the county party committee, including Liu Hansheng, Zhao Jibin, Wang Zhuoru, and Li Dashan, were arrested. On the first anniversary of the Wenxinggu Incident in 1930, the Communist Party organized over 2,000 people to hold a commemorative assembly for the martyrs who died in the struggle, in front of the martyr’s cemetery in Qiankou Village. After the assembly, a massive ——— was carried out, greatly boosting the morale of the masses. The Communist Party organization and the Peasant Association were consolidated and developed, effectively promoting the peasant movement in the Sha District. During the Anti-Japanese War, the government of the Jin-Cha-Ji Border Region once operated a primary school for children of anti-Japanese cadres inside the ancestral hall.

Liucun Township: Liucun Township is located 21 kilometers south of Neihuang County. To the east, it borders the Xiaohé River and neighbors Houhe Town and the Baitiaohé Garden Farm; to the west, it adjoins Jingdian Town; to the south, it borders the Neihuang Prison in Henan Province and the boundary of Xun County; and to the north, it neighbors Bohcheng Township. It covers an area of 63.7 square kilometers, accounting for 5.5% of the total area of the county. The township governs 22 administrative villages, 126 villager groups, and has a population of 30,898, including 850 non-agricultural residents. The arable land area is 49,000 mu, with per capita arable land for rural residents being 1.83 mu. In 2005, the total industrial and agricultural output value was 200 million yuan.
