Gongji Tower

Gongji Tower is a cultural tourism attraction.

Also known as Zhuogeng Tower, Gongji Tower is the Chengping Gate Tower. Originally built in the 27th year of the Hongwu reign during the Ming Dynasty (1394 AD), it served as a transportation hub between the Central Plains and the desert. The tower stands atop the Xuanhua city wall and functions as a defensive structure. It is 14 meters high, has a two-story main body, and a 9-meter-high base. Beneath it lies a north-south arched passageway that aligns with the Qingyuan and Zhenshuo towers along a single axis. Gongji Tower is a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.
