Former Site of the Chahar Military Governor's Office

The Former Site of the Chahar Military Governor's Office is a cultural tourism attraction.

At the foot of the majestic Great Wall lies a grand and magnificent ancient architectural complex — the former site of the Chahar Military Governor's Office, which has a history of over 200 years. Originally built in the 27th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1762 AD), the entire structure embodies both the solemnity of a feudal bureaucratic office and exquisite architectural artistry. The complex consists of four vertical axes: the main gate, the second gate, the central door of the main hall, and the central door of the rear hall. Several well-preserved buildings still remain. As the most intact ancient architectural complex in the Zhangjiakou area, the Chahar Military Governor's Office holds significant value for the study of Qing Dynasty official architecture and historical sciences. It currently serves as the site of the Municipal Party School.
