Tar Village Brick Pagoda

The Tar Village Brick Pagoda is a cultural tourism attraction.

Before the liberation, there were two ancient pagodas in Xuanhua County: one was the Lihua Temple Pagoda at the southwest corner of Xuanhua City, and the other was the Yiluo Pagoda, located 20 kilometers southwest of the city. After the liberation, the Lihua Temple Pagoda was incorporated into Xuanhua City due to administrative boundary changes.

The Yiluo Pagoda is located west of Tar Village. The inscription on the pagoda states its full name as the “Lynx Yiluo Pagoda.” It was first built in the seventh year of the Tianqing era of the Liao Dynasty (1117 AD). The base is a hexagonal platform, 1.9 meters high and 33 meters in circumference. The pagoda itself consists of thirteen stories made of solid blue bricks with six edges, standing 20 meters tall, and is now largely well-preserved.
