The Ming Dynasty Tombs of Zhang Yong and Zhang Fu　　Located in the backyard of the current Cuiyunlou Hotel, the site originally featured a stone memorial archway, a spirit way stele, stone statues, and a stone offering table, among other structures. These were removed during the 1950s due to construction, though some fragmented stones still remain. According to historical records, Zhang Yong was a eunuch, and his biography is included in the Ming History: “Zhang Yong was from Xincheng, Baoding (Longzhaozhuang Village). In the early years of the Zhengde era, he was in charge of the Divine Engine Guards... His elder brother Zhang Fu was granted the title of Marquis of Tai'an...” The horizontal plaque on the stone memorial archway in front of this tomb was inscribed with the words: “Tomb of Marquis of Tai'an, Zhang, Granted by Imperial Decree.” This tomb was looted in ancient times. Another large tomb, whose dome was reinforced with very solid lime-soil mixture and which also had an outer coffin and inner casket, may have remained unrobbed due to water accumulation in earlier times. When the tomb was excavated, the accumulated water was deep, black, and emitted a strong smell of cedarwood oil, making it impossible to clean thoroughly—only the inner coffin and casket were removed. The burial objects are still buried underground to this day.
