The Sanzhang Han Dynasty Tomb Cluster

In Sanzhang Village, Gaobeidian Town, a Han tomb cluster was discovered during soil extraction at a brick factory. Most of the tombs have been damaged, with pottery fragments and broken bricks and tiles scattered everywhere. Some tombs are still half-buried in the ground, all being small-sized brick-chambered tombs. Their construction features a round top and a square base, with rectangular tomb pits. Collected artifacts include bronze belt ornaments and spade coins, as well as some very thin red pottery fragments. Additionally, six gray pottery jars of varying sizes were gathered. In earlier years, a larger Han Dynasty brick-chambered tomb was found here, and villagers took bricks from it to build walls. Artifacts unearthed included pottery buildings and figurines, but unfortunately, they were lost long ago. Only one incomplete rectangular gray pottery box without a lid has survived.
