The Ligezhuang Han Dynasty Ruins

Located south of Ligezhuang Village in Gaobeidian Town and west of the No. 2 Brick Factory, the site covers an area of 70,000 square meters. Unearthed cultural relics are exposed on the northern slope of the soil excavation pit, including gray pottery urns, sand-tempered red pottery cauldrons, large roof tiles, unusual-shaped bricks, as well as a gray pottery urn stamped with the character “大富” (meaning “great fortune”), iron arrowheads, and a bronze cover of a three-bird-facing-the-wind incense burner. In addition, an ancient well and several ash pits, ash layers, and red-fired earth patches were discovered. Not far from the well lies a small tile kiln, which still contains some roof tiles. Extending northward from the ruins all the way to the entrance of Ligezhuang Village, fragments of Han Dynasty and slightly later bricks and tiles can be seen on the ground surface.

Note: Ligezhuang was originally called Ligezhuang, said to be the hometown of Li Daoyuan. In the 1950s, a bronze seal inscribed with “Yongning Marquis” was unearthed here, believed to have belonged to the Li family.
