China’s First AR Family Theme Park — Mengzu Tribe

Mengzu Tribe Outdoor Family Park is located on the northern shore of Xiashan Lake, the largest reservoir in Shandong Province. It was invested in and built by Weifang Xiashan Ecological Pastoral Tourism Development Co., Ltd., covering a total area of 280 acres with approximately 11,000 square meters of commercial space. The first phase received an investment of 180 million yuan and officially opened to the public during the National Day holiday in 2017.

Leveraging Xiashan’s superior location and excellent ecological environment, the park has introduced advanced amusement facilities to create an eco-friendly family entertainment center. The park is divided into eight themed zones: Mengzu Town, Colorful Valley, Jungle Adventure, Ancient Exploration, Resurrection Island, Mengzu Tribe, Prairie Camping, and Back to Childhood. It caters to all aspects of visitors’ needs — eating, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment — striving to become a one-stop “light vacation” destination for urban families.

As China’s first AR family theme park, Mengzu Tribe has meticulously designed over 30 amusement projects using cutting-edge AR (Augmented Reality) technology. These include Happy Ocean, Resurrection Island, Sunny Rock Climbing, Matrix Blocks, Archaeological Discovery, Molecular Climbing, Rabbit Hole, Colorful Wooden Stumps, Happy Trampoline, Hobbit Village, Jungle Train, Jungle Obstacle Course, Conquer the Peak, Tire Playground, Savage Valley, Dinosaur World, Farming Culture Museum, Speed Zip Line, Sonic Matrix, Jungle Sounds, Rope Web Maze, Bug Hole Maze, UFO Swing, Pet Home, Kids Golf, Mini Carnival, and Plant Maze.

The Mengzu Tribe Eco-Classroom within the park is the first of its kind in the province. This eco-classroom is an experiential education model that encourages children to step out of the classroom and gain direct experience and perception through hands-on activities in nature. Currently, the Mengzu Tribe Eco-Classroom offers courses in five major categories: quality development, artistic creation, geometric mathematics, hands-on construction, and natural science. It greatly benefits children’s learning abilities, ways of thinking, behavioral habits, and creativity. It allows children to break free from environmental constraints, fully immerse themselves in nature, discover their interests and talents, and ultimately realize their self-worth.

With more fun eco-camping spaces, more creative cultural play areas, and more refined outdoor leisure spaces, the park builds strong bonds between children and adults.
