The Weifang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Weifang Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1951 and covers an area of 50 acres. It mainly consists of six commemorative structures: the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument Pavilion, the Martyrs’ Cemetery of the Weixian Campaign, the Martyrs’ Cemetery of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, the Horizontal Tombstones of Revolutionary Martyrs, and the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall. It is the best venue in Weifang for patriotic education.

The cemetery currently houses the remains of 1,805 martyrs, including 539 unnamed martyrs. These individuals sacrificed their lives during the early days of the Party, the War of Resistance against Japan, the Liberation War, and the period of socialist construction. Notable martyrs include Zhuang Longjia, the first County Party Secretary of Weixian, and Wang Quanbin, the County Party Secretary of Gaomi. The site also preserves valuable revolutionary relics, as well as detailed historical documents and photographic materials.

Since its establishment, the cemetery has upheld the principle of "honoring the martyrs and educating future generations," fully leveraging its role as a patriotic education base by remaining open to the public free of charge year-round. Traditional holidays such as Qingming Festival and National Day are used to organize commemorative activities with patriotic themes. The "New Democratic Revolution Period CPC Weifang Historical Photo Exhibition" displayed in the Martyrs Memorial Hall is open to the public free of charge on weekdays (9:00–11:00 AM, 2:30–4:30 PM), and is accompanied by professional guides who provide insights into the glorious history of the Weifang Party organization. Major memorial days such as the Victory Day of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Martyrs' Day, and the National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims are marked by organizing martyr commemoration ceremonies and speech competitions.

Since last year, the Weifang Martyrs' Cemetery has innovated its educational outreach by shifting from "waiting for visitors" to "going out," transforming the static memorial hall into a mobile classroom for patriotism. It has launched...

A patriotic education campaign titled “Honoring the Martyrs · Inspiring Future Generations” that brings educational activities into schools. Using multimedia aids such as slideshows and films, the campaign delivers vivid lessons in revolutionary tradition and patriotism to students.

The city's martyrs' cemetery is a youth education base in Weifang. It not only provides free services for visiting primary and secondary school students—including venue, audio equipment, hosting, and guided tours—but can also arrange for specialists to bring patriotic and revolutionary education directly into classrooms. Through these activities, students gain a deeper understanding of revolutionary history and the deeds of martyrs, revisit the hardships of wartime, and receive a powerful patriotic education that motivates them to study hard and serve the nation.
