The Memorial Hall of the Yanling Team in Baiyangdian serves as a patriotism education base.

The Memorial Hall of the Yanling Team in Baiyangdian, located in Baiyangdian — the "Pearl of North China" and a 5A-level tourist attraction in China, was recently designated as a third batch provincial patriotism education base by the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, to better leverage the role of patriotism education bases, promote the in-depth development of patriotic education activities among the public, ignite the patriotic enthusiasm of the broad masses of cadres and people in Hebei, foster and cultivate national spirit, guide the people of the entire province to strengthen confidence, unite forces, and strive for scientific development and a prosperous, strong province, the Hebei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government have decided to designate 27 new provincial patriotism education bases. Among them, the Memorial Hall of the Yanling Team in Baiyangdian, Baoding City, has been included on the list.

The Yanling Team Memorial Hall is situated within the Baiyangdian Cultural Park in the center of Baiyangdian, covering a construction area of 2,566 square meters. The name of the hall was inscribed personally by General Lü Zhengcao, a founding marshal who once led troops in battles across central Hebei, at the age of 99. The memorial is divided into 18 theme-based exhibition halls, including the Preface Hall, the Outbreak of the Full-scale War of Resistance and the Establishment of the Central Hebei Anti-Japanese Base Area, the Atrocities of Japanese Invaders in Baiyangdian, the Yanling Team and Water Guerrilla Warfare, Assaulting Watchtowers and Capturing Strongholds, Punishing Traitors to Eliminate Evils for the People, Jubilantly Welcoming Victory in the War of Resistance, and Carrying Forward Revolutionary Traditions and Promoting the Spirit of the Yanling Team. Through a wealth of detailed, rich, and precious historical photos, charts, documents, artifacts, lifelike sculptures, and the use of modern artistic techniques such as lighting, sound, 3D animation, and large-screen projections, it vividly recreates the thrilling and courageous battles of the world-renowned Yanling Team in Baiyangdian — their clever, flexible, and brave strikes against the Japanese invaders — allowing visitors to experience new highlights of the historic wartime journey. With the "Red" theme (the Yanling Team Memorial Hall) as the core, and integrating other resources to form a blend of red and blue (blue skies and clear, rippling waters), red and green (world-famous lotus gardens and lotus ponds, representing natural ecology), red and ancient (Kangxi’s Water Enclosure Hunting Palace and Pei’en Temple), and red and folk (the folk customs of Gazi Village), the site achieves complementary advantages, forming a comprehensive, high-quality model that features overlapping elements. These elements enhance each other, creating greater appeal than any single red tourism site.

Due to its standardized construction, rich exhibits, and enthusiastic visitor turnout, the Memorial Hall of the Yanling Team in Baiyangdian was named one of China’s Top Ten Red Tourism Attractions in an evaluation organized by China Red Net, the CPC Central Committee’s Propaganda Department publication "Party Building," and Hongqi Publishing House. Yuan Dabing, chairman of the Baiyangdian Cultural Park, was honored as one of China’s Top Ten Red Tourism Figures.
