Zibo Liao Zhai City is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Liao Zhai City is a large, themed scenic garden complex that presents the stories of Liao Zhai through a landscaped setting. It is located in Pujiazhuang, Hongshan Town, Zichuan District, Zibo City. This is the hometown of Pu Songling, known as the "King of World Short Stories," and is one of the top five tourist attractions in Shandong Province.

Zibo Liao Zhai City is made up of six parts: the Art Exhibition Hall, Fox Fairy Garden, Stone Hidden Garden, Liao Zhai Palace, Manjing Temple, and Fox Viewing Garden. The Pu Songling Memorial Hall within the Liao Zhai City scenic area has largely preserved the original appearance of Pu Songling’s former residence. The residence is a typical northern rural courtyard, with a golden plaque inscribed “Pu Songling’s Former Residence” by Guo Moruo hanging prominently above the entrance. Inside the courtyard are the Liao Zhai study where Pu Songling wrote his works, an exhibition room showcasing his life, a display of his beloved literary stones, and a gallery featuring calligraphy and paintings by contemporary literati. Liquan, also known as “Manjing,” was where Pu Songling once set up tea stalls to gather folk tales. A stone stele inscribed with the name “Li Quan” by Shen Yanbing stands here. The spring, surrounded by bluestone, flows abundantly, captivating all who visit. In addition to Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, Pu Songling also composed over a thousand folk songs. The Folk Song Tea House is an ideal spot to enjoy performances of these traditional tunes. Visitors can sit, sip tea, and listen to a few folk songs for a truly unique experience. The Fox Fairy Garden is designed around the theme of Liao Zhai stories and features exhibits on Pu Songling’s life and works, his career as a private tutor, and calligraphy and paintings by notable figures. The Stone Hidden Garden was originally the garden of the Bi family. Pu Songling taught at the Bi residence for 30 years and wrote many poems about the garden. The garden is filled with uniquely shaped rocks and lush greenery. It has been relocated to Pu Songling’s hometown to recreate his life of teaching and writing. Manjing Temple is a reconstructed ancient temple, with a double-arched memorial archway serving as its entrance. It houses structures such as the Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Three Saints Hall, and Bell Tower. The exterior of Liao Zhai Palace resembles a celestial palace towering above, with blue lakes and green mountains creating the illusion of a heavenly abode. Inside, the palace uses painted sculptures, film special effects, lighting, and sound to artistically recreate the mythical beings from Pu Songling’s tales.

It takes approximately three hours to tour the entire scenic area.
