Zitong Mountain Scenic Area

Zitong Mountain is located in the northern part of Zichuan, three kilometers east of the Zitong Mountain stop on the Zhangbo Highway. The Zitong Mountain Guigudong Scenic Area is situated here, covering an area of over 1,500 acres. The scenic area boasts beautiful mountains and clear waters, secluded valleys, lush forests, and is abundant in historical sites and folk tales, where natural and cultural landscapes blend harmoniously. The current Vice Chairman and the Director personally inscribed the four large characters "Guigujing – The Fairyland of Guigu," giving high praise to the site.

The main attractions in the scenic area include Guigudong Cave, Guigudong Spring, Guigu Temple, Zitong Lake, Panlong Gate, Buyun Bridge, Giant Stele, Octagonal Stele, Filial Piety Shrine, Book-Drying Terrace, Kuixing Pavilion, Jade Emperor Palace, Hongling Temple, Mural Porcelain Screen, Primitive Forest, Wildlife Park, and Children's Amusement Park.

This scenic area is located 3.5 kilometers east of the Zitong Mountain Station on National Highway 205 in Zhangzhuang Village, Zichuan, covering an area of 100 hectares. It recreates the historical grandeur of Guiguzi teaching and lecturing in the Guigudong Cave on Zitong Mountain, as well as the enduring legacy of Wang Qiao, a filial son from the Northern Song Dynasty renowned for his loyalty and piety. The entire scenic area is embraced by mountains, shaded by green trees, with murmuring streams and fragrant flowers and birdsongs. Here, natural and cultural landscapes merge seamlessly, with lake and mountain views complementing each other, red walls and green tiles shrouded in mist, and various scenic spots arranged in charming disorder.
