Liquan Scenic Area

is the core scenic area of the Zichuan Scenic Spots, located in Pujiazhuang Village, Hongshan Town, Zichuan District, the hometown of Pu Songling, a renowned literary figure of the Qing Dynasty. Pu Songling (1640–1715), courtesy name Lüxian, also known as Jiachen, and pseudonym Liquan Jushi, was a native of Pujiazhuang, Zichuan. He was a famous literary figure of the Qing Dynasty. Throughout his life, he was known for his integrity and disdain for the corruption of society, often using tales of foxes and ghosts to satirize the social ills of his time. In addition to his world-renowned collection of short stories, "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio," his major works include 13 volumes of essays with over 400 pieces, 8 volumes of poetry with more than 900 poems, over 100 ci poems, 14 types of folk songs, 3 plays, and 5 miscellaneous writings. Many chapters from "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio" have been adapted into operas, films, and TV dramas, exerting a profound influence. The work has been translated into twenty languages, including Japanese, English, French, German, and Italian, and is widely circulated around the world.
