Qishan

Qishan is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Qishan is the only nature-based sightseeing scenic area in China themed around Qi culture. Located 5 kilometers south of Taihe Town Government in Zichuan District, Zibo City, it covers an area of 36 square kilometers, with its highest peak, Tangsanzhai, reaching an elevation of 868 meters. Currently a national AAA-level scenic spot, it is also the largest privately-owned forest farm in Shandong Province.

The Qishan Scenic Area features over thirty renowned natural attractions, among which the most representative ones are: the “High Mountain Hanging Waterfall” — Guanyin Waterfall; the “Cliff Summit in the Clouds” — Tangsanzhai; the “Ten-Mile Gallery” — Ancient Plank Road; and the “Emperor’s Dragon Vein” — Qimen Cave, collectively known as the “Four Scenic Wonders of Qishan.” Other highlights include the Spring-Autumn Lake, Buddha-Reflecting Pool, Tianshui Stream, and numerous waterfalls and streams nestled between cliffs, showcasing the area’s breathtaking and rugged beauty.

The Qishan Scenic Area has a profound historical and cultural heritage. During the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, the headquarters of the female hero Tang Saier from Pudai, Shandong, was stationed here, with the ruins of Tangshan Fort and the General’s Platform still preserved. It was also the site of the “Joint Command of Four Counties,” established and led by General Liao Rongbiao, commander of the Fourth Brigade of the Eighth Route Army’s Shandong Column, during the Anti-Japanese War.
