The Beishen Site is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Era: Neolithic Age to Warring States Period

The Beishen Site is an important archaeological site spanning from the Longshan Culture and Yueshi Culture to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, covering an area of approximately 280,000 square meters. It is a municipal-level key cultural relics protection unit. Since April 15, 2001, the Department of Archaeology at Shandong University, together with municipal and district cultural relics departments, has carried out rescue excavations at the site. The excavation covered nearly 300 square meters and unearthed two residential structures from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, six tombs from the Shang-Zhou and Warring States periods, one road, as well as more than 20 pieces of pottery, bone, and stone artifacts. The complete skeletal remains of a camel and a wild boar were also discovered. The excavated Warring States period tombs feature unique burial customs and differ in burial methods from those found in the Central Plains and the Linzi area from the same period, giving them significant archaeological value. They provide extremely valuable physical materials for the study of Qi culture. In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
