Liuxian Valley

Liuxian Valley is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Liuxian Valley Scenic Area in Zichuan is a rare natural geological and cultural heritage site in northern China. Legend has it that this was where Pu Songling retreated from worldly distractions to focus on his writing. With its dense vegetation and shaded woods, the valley is about 2 to 3 degrees cooler than the surrounding areas, making it an ideal summer retreat. The area features rugged mountains and steep cliffs, as well as attractions such as Zhashan Villa, Qingfeng Temple, Fairy Cave, the Laughing Buddha, and cave stone houses. A temple fair is also held here every year during the ninth lunar month, where visitors can take part in prayer activities.

Self-driving directions: Take the Binbo Expressway and exit at Zichuan — head east on S325 for 5.4 km — go south on S246 for 1.1 km — continue east on Songling West Road for 1.2 km — drive east on Banyang Road for 2 km — proceed east on Zikuang Road for 2.9 km — then head east on Zhong Road for 6.2 km and turn right to reach the scenic area. It takes approximately 35 minutes from the highway exit to arrive at the site.
