The Ezhai Soil and Water Conservation Ecological Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Ezhai Soil and Water Conservation Ecological Scenic Area in Zibo City is a comprehensive scenic zone noted for its effective soil and water conservation practices and stunning ecological surroundings. It houses one small (Type I) reservoir, three small (Type II) reservoirs, and 58 ponds and river dams. The area features verdant, graceful mountains dotted with ancient and rare trees, as well as precious flora and fauna. These natural elements complement the expansive shimmering waters, crystal-clear mountain streams, and numerous waterfalls scattered throughout the landscape. With distinct ecological diversity, the area has been dubbed the “Jiuzhaigou of the North” and attracts large numbers of visitors each year. According to current plans, the scenic area has successfully developed the Xiangshui Stream (Waterfall Cluster) scenic cluster, achieving positive economic and social outcomes, while other clusters are still under development. Infrastructure and tourist facilities in the area are also progressively being improved, indicating strong momentum for future growth.

The area encompasses 446 peaks of varying sizes and 241 valleys, naturally forming 22 small watersheds. The entire watershed operates as an independent hydrological system, covering an area of 93 square kilometers. It includes one small (Type I) reservoir, three small (Type II) reservoirs, 58 ponds and river dams, 566 check dams for sand retention and water storage, over 350 small reservoirs, and a total surface water volume exceeding 3 million cubic meters, with water surfaces spanning more than 50 hectares.
