Zichuan Puzhao Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Puzhao Temple is located within Liuxian Lake Park in Zichuan District, Zibo City, and is also known as the Great Buddha Temple. It was built around the first year of the Guangda era (567 AD) during the reign of the last emperor of the Chen Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties, and has a history of over 1,400 years. During the Tang Dynasty, it was the site of Master Huizhao, the third patriarch of the Faxiang school. Master Huizhao, a native of Zichuan, Shandong, was a direct disciple of Xuanzang’s student Kuiji, and was highly proficient in Consciousness-only Yogacara studies. He was known as the Third Patriarch of Consciousness-only or the Master of Zizhou, and was honored as the “Huizhao of Shandong.” Research suggests that the Japanese Faxiang Yogacara school originated from the thriving Puzhao Temple, the sacred site of Master Huizhao in Tang Dynasty Zizhou. Zichuan Puzhao Temple has a total construction area of 1,100 square meters, consisting of structures such as the mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Mahavira Hall, and the Guanyin Hall.
