The Yellow River Estuary Wetland Ecotourism Area is located at the mouth where the Yellow River meets the sea. Situated within the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve and a national forest park, the area is renowned for its unique wetland ecological landscape.

As the poem says: "The waters of the Yellow River come from heaven, rushing to the sea never to return." The estuary referred to in the poem is right here. It was formed as a result of the Yellow River’s course change in 1855, situated at the convergence of the Bohai Sea and Laizhou Bay. Over thousands of years, the Yellow River’s flow and sedimentation have created China’s most expansive and youngest wetland ecosystem at its estuary—this is the Yellow River Estuary Wetland Ecological Park. It is a highly distinctive tourism resource with strong visual appeal.

Due to its unique wetland ecological environment and exceptional natural conditions, the park boasts abundant biological resources. There are 12,000 hectares of black locust forests and 1,917 species of various organisms, including 641 species of aquatic animals, among which the Yangtze sturgeon and Chinese paddlefish are classified as Class I protected species. It also serves as a habitat for birds, including many Class I protected species such as red-crowned cranes, white-naped cranes, white storks, scaly-sided mergansers, golden eagles, and white-tailed sea eagles, as well as over 30 species of Class II protected birds, making it a paradise for avian life. It is a destination that combines pristine ecological tourism, wetland scientific research, bird studies, and patriotic education.
