Hekou Gudao Botanical Garden is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The Hekou District Gudao Botanical Garden was established in May 1997 and features over 100 varieties of trees, shrubs, and flowers, including plane trees, poplars, willows, pagoda trees, magnolia, pines, bamboo, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, peonies, and herbaceous peonies. The garden is thoughtfully landscaped with blooming plants for three seasons of the year, evergreen foliage throughout all four seasons, and an atmosphere that is tranquil and elegant. It is the most comprehensive and largest botanical park in the Yellow River Delta region, serving not only as a rich educational resource for plant science but also as an ideal spot for leisure and sightseeing.

Covering an area of more than 390 acres, the botanical garden houses over 100,000 plants of more than 100 varieties, making it the largest nursery and ecological leisure park operated by the oilfield. To create an ecological, economic, and recreational botanical space, the community’s Greening and Sanitation Brigade optimized the floral structure by planting over 16,000 ornamental plants such as flowering plum and purple-leaf crabapple, and established the largest plane tree nursery in the Yellow River Estuary area, cultivating more than 30,000 plane trees. To facilitate leisure activities for residents and the maintenance of plants, over a kilometer of cinder-paved pathways were constructed within the garden, ensuring easy access throughout. The garden offers visitors a feeling of entering a paradise, complemented by pavilions and towers that are delightful to explore. The management team of the botanical garden employs scientific and environmentally friendly pest control methods to maintain its excellent ecological environment, attracting protected bird species such as the long-eared owl to nest here, creating a harmonious scene where birds sing among the trees while visitors relax and enjoy the scenery below.
