Dongjiuhou Village in Dawang Town boasts a glorious revolutionary tradition. It was the birthplace of one of China’s earliest rural Party branches—the Liujibu Branch—which disseminated, utilized, and preserved the first Chinese translation of The Communist Manifesto. In July 2011, a major TV series titled "The Manifesto," based on the revolutionary struggles of the Liujibu Branch, was successfully aired during prime time on China Central Television (CCTV), further enhancing the influence and appeal of Dawang Town’s red culture, boosting the visibility of Liujibu, and sparking a nationwide trend of “watching The Manifesto and learning from The Manifesto.”

To commemorate the arduous journey of the dissemination, utilization, and preservation of the first Chinese translation of The Communist Manifesto in Liujibu Village and to celebrate the great achievements of early revolutionaries, Dawang Town built the country’s first Memorial Hall of The Communist Manifesto. Its aim is to further promote the spirit of the Manifesto, inspire Party members, cadres, and the general public to uphold the banner of communism under the strong leadership of the Party, strengthen their faith in Marxism, and bravely forge ahead on the great journey of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The memorial hall consists of three above-ground floors and an underground tunnel exhibition area, covering a total area of 3,600 square meters. The first and second floors feature five thematic exhibition areas: The Red Phantom, Dawn in the East, Years of Turbulence, Blood and Loyalty, and Everlasting Radiance. These comprehensively showcase the birth, dissemination, and guidance of the first Chinese edition of The Communist Manifesto in China’s revolution, as well as the indomitable revolutionary struggle and entrepreneurial spirit of the people of Liujibu under the inspiration of the Manifesto. The Red Phantom section mainly describes the international background of the birth of The Communist Manifesto and its dissemination in China; Dawn in the East highlights the broader context of the Manifesto’s spread in China, the establishment of the Liujibu Branch, and how the Manifesto came to Liujibu; Years of Turbulence focuses on the unwavering revolutionary struggle of Liujibu’s Party members and people, and their entrepreneurial spirit in the new era, inspired by the ideology of The Communist Manifesto; Blood and Loyalty interprets the glorious journey of the people of Dawang who, at the critical moment of the Chinese nation’s survival, practiced the theories of The Communist Manifesto on the dramatic battlefields of China, advancing the revolution; Everlasting Radiance details the history of the Manifesto’s dissemination, preservation, and donation in Liujibu Village, as well as its long-term impact on contemporary people. The third floor houses a Party spirit education lecture hall that can accommodate 100 people, providing a strong platform for patriotic education activities.

The Memorial Hall of The Communist Manifesto began operation in January 2012. It has played an active role in strengthening patriotic education, promoting the revolutionary spirit of the Manifesto, and guiding Party members, cadres, and the public to work hard, pursue excellence, and strive for innovation.
