Xiliu Site

The Xiliu Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Xiliu Site is located in the northwest corner of Xiliu Village, Lique Town, Guangrao County. It was re-examined on May 12, 2009. Observations at the site indicate that there are relatively few cultural relics scattered on the surface. Collected specimens include gray pottery fragments with rope patterns, gray pottery bricks with grid patterns, gray pottery roof tiles, and approximately other pottery fragments. Artifacts identified include jars, pots, and basins. Decorative patterns include cloth textures and rope patterns. Drilling investigations revealed that there is almost no cultural layer at the site. Pottery fragments were found only 0.4 meters below the surface, but in very small quantities. Many porcelain fragments from the Song and Yuan dynasties were also discovered, including brown-glazed and soy sauce-glazed pieces. The site stretches 167 meters from east to west and 178 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 28,000 square meters. Based on the analysis of collected cultural relics and drilling results, the site dates back to the Han and Song dynasties. It serves as important physical evidence for studying the residential history of Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.

Lique Town: Lique Town is located in the southern part of Guangrao County, 8 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Linzi District of Zibo City to the south, connects to Dawang Town to the east, and adjoins Zibo City and Binzhou City to the west. The provincial-level highway Xinhe Road runs north-south through the town, and the planned local railway—Xingguang Railway—will traverse the area from east to west. The town covers a total area of 66.44 square kilometers, with arable land spanning 75,916 mu. It comprises 57 village committees, with a total of 10,806 households and a population of 36,768, including 17,197 females and 1,673 non-agricultural residents. The natural population growth rate is 3.89‰, and the family planning rate is 99%.
