Xishui Site

The Xishui Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Xishui Site is located about 30 meters south of Xishui Village, Lique Town, Guangrao County. It was re-examined on May 5, 2009. Observations at the site revealed scattered cultural relics on the surface, mainly including gray pottery shards and gray clay bricks. Examination of the trench walls also showed gray pottery pieces and broken bricks. Drilling investigations found that the cultural layer of the site is relatively shallow below the surface and quite thin, containing materials such as plant ash and red-fired earth particles. The site stretches 200 meters from north to south and 150 meters from east to west, covering a total area of approximately 30,000 square meters. Analysis of the collected cultural relics suggests that the site dates back from the Longshan period to the Han Dynasty. It serves as an important physical resource for studying the settlement history of Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.

Lique Town: Lique Town is situated in the southern part of Guangrao County, about 8 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Linzi District of Zibo City to the south, connects to Dawang Town to the east, and adjoins Zibo City and Binzhou City to the west. The provincial-level highway Xinhel Road runs north-south through the town, and the soon-to-be-constructed local railway—Xingguang Railway—will traverse the area from east to west. The town covers a total area of 66.44 square kilometers, with 75,916 mu of arable land. It administers 57 villagers' committees, with a total of 10,806 households and a population of 36,768, including 17,197 females and 1,673 non-agricultural residents. The natural population growth rate is 3.89‰, and the family planning rate is 99%.
