Xigeng Site

The Xigeng Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Xigeng Site is located at the northeast corner of Xigeng Village, Lique Town, Guangrao County. It was re-examined on May 15, 2009, measuring 62 meters in length from east to west and 44 meters in width from north to south, covering a total area of 2,400 square meters. Observations on-site revealed a small number of scattered cultural relics, including gray pottery fragments and gray bricks. According to villagers, this area was originally where houses stood, with slightly higher ground. Over the years, soil was taken away for house construction, causing the ground level to drop and resulting in severe damage to the cultural layer. Drilling surveys indicated that the cultural layer is relatively shallow beneath the surface, with very few artifacts. Based on the collected relics and drilling analysis, the site dates back to the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty. It serves as an important physical resource for studying the settlement history of Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.

Lique Town: Lique Town is located in the southern part of Guangrao County, about 8 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Linzi District of Zibo City to the south, connects to Dawang Town to the east, and adjoins Zibo City and Binzhou City to the west. The provincial-level highway Xihao Road runs north-south through the town, and the planned local railway—Xingguang Railway—will traverse the area from east to west. The total area is 66.44 square kilometers, with cultivated land spanning 75,916 mu. There are 57 villager committees, with a total of 10,806 households and a population of 36,768. This includes 17,197 women, 1,673 non-agricultural residents, a natural population growth rate of 3.89‰, and a family planning compliance rate of 99%.
