Tomb of Qi Gongzhi

The Tomb of Qi Gongzhi is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Tomb of Qi Gongzhi is located about 100 meters west of Sijia Village in the Economic Development Zone of Guangrao County. Qi Gongzhi ( ?–1286 ), courtesy name Shiměi, was a native of Qixu Village in Guangrao County and one of the prominent military generals in the early Yuan Dynasty. He was successively appointed as the Envoy Commander of Jingnan Pacification Commission, Martial Valor General, Eminent Brave General, Auxiliary National Upper General, Commander-in-Chief, and Xuanwei Envoy, among other titles. In the 23rd year of the Yuan Dynasty (1286), while suppressing the rebellion of Prince Haidu, Qi Gongzhi died in battle after advancing deep into enemy territory without reinforcements. He was later buried in his ancestral tomb in his hometown. The tomb site stretches 150 meters from north to south, covering an area of 6,000 square meters. The earthen mound has since been leveled. The tomb originally had four stone figures, four stone tigers, and four stone sheep each, a pair of ornamental columns, and a pair of stone lions, all arranged in two facing rows on the east and west sides. There was also a rectangular stone offering table, a stone flagpole base, and a turtle-shaped stone stele, all located at the northern end of the two rows of stone carvings. Except for two pairs of stone sheep that remain buried underground, the other stone artifacts no longer exist, but the main tomb remains well-preserved. In December 2004, the People's Government of Guangrao County designated it as a fourth batch of county-level key cultural relic protection units and erected a protective marker stele.
