Goutou Site

Goutou Site

The Goutou Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Goutou Site is located south of Goutou Village, Lique Town, Guangrao County. On May 8, 2009, a re-examination was conducted. The site stretches approximately 133 meters from east to west and 123 meters from north to south, covering a total area of about 15,000 square meters. Observations on-site revealed a small number of gray pottery bricks, gray pottery shards, gray pottery roof tiles, dou stems, dou bases, and other artifacts. Drilling surveys found that the cultural layer at the site is relatively shallow and contains a small number of gray pottery bricks, red-fired earth particles, plant ash, and other materials. Analysis of the collected artifact samples indicates that this site dates back to the Shang-Zhou period through the Han Dynasty. It serves as an important physical resource for studying the history of human settlement in Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.
