Dayao Site

The Dayao Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Guangrao County.

The Dayao Site is located about 30 meters north of Dayao Village, Shicun Town, Guangrao County. It was re-examined on May 23, 2009. Observations at the site indicate that the overall terrain of the site is slightly higher than the surrounding area. The surface is scattered with numerous cultural relics, mainly including gray pottery roof tiles, gray pottery bricks, and gray pottery shards, with vessel shapes primarily consisting of jars, basins, and pots. Drilling surveys found that the cultural layer of the site is relatively shallow, about 0.4 meters thick from the surface, containing materials such as plant ash and red-fired earth particles. The site stretches 109 meters from east to west and 178 meters from north to south, covering an area of 15,000 square meters. Based on the analysis of collected cultural relic samples and drilling results, this site dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. It serves as an important physical resource for studying the history of human habitation in Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.
