Xiaozhang Site

Xiaozhang Site

The Xiaozhang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Xiaozhang Site is located about 100 meters northwest of Xiaozhang Village, Lique Town, Guangrao County. It was re-examined on May 16, 2009. From the surface of the site, numerous scattered cultural relics were found, including gray pottery shards, gray clay bricks, and gray clay roof tiles. Drilling surveys revealed that the cultural layer of the site is relatively shallow, about 1 meter thick, and contains gray pottery shards, plant ash, and red-fired soil particles. The site stretches 205 meters from east to west and 258 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 46,000 square meters. Based on the analysis of collected cultural relics, the site dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. It serves as an important physical resource for studying the residential history of Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.
