The Xigarden Site at Beiguo

The Xigarden Site at Beiguo is a cultural heritage protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Xigarden Site at Beiguo is located about 1,500 meters southeast of Beiguo Village, Dawang Town, Guangrao County. It was re-examined on April 23, 2009. The site measures 125 meters from east to west and 211 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 16,528 square meters. Observations at the site indicate that the terrain is flat, with farmland covering the surface, and scattered across the ground are a small number of cultural relic specimens, including gray pottery shards, gray pottery fabric-patterned tiles, and gray pottery bricks. At the same time, a certain amount of late-period porcelain fragments are also scattered on the surface, such as brown-glazed porcelain bowl bases and white-glazed porcelain pieces, which are estimated to date back to the Song and Yuan dynasties. Through drilling, it was found that the cultural layer is extremely close to the surface, relatively thin, and contains a small number of gray pottery shards. Based on the analysis of collected cultural relic specimens, the site dates back to the Shang to Han dynasties and serves as important physical evidence for studying the history of human habitation in Guangrao, possessing certain historical value.
