Hou Dazhang Site

The Hou Dazhang Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Hou Dazhang Site is located east of Hou Dazhang Village, Lique Town, Guangrao County. It stretches 169 meters from east to west and 223 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 36,000 square meters. Observations at the site reveal numerous cultural relics scattered across the surface, including gray pottery bricks, gray pottery shards, red pottery shards, and artifacts such as jars, pots, and basins. Drilling surveys have found that the site has a relatively thin cultural layer, with finds including gray pottery shards, plant ash, and red-fired earth particles, though the overall abundance of relics is not high. Analysis of the collected cultural relics suggests that the site dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties through the Han Dynasty. It serves as an important physical resource for studying the settlement history of Guangrao County and holds certain historical value.
