Beiwoshi West Site

The Beiwoshi West Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Beiwoshi West Site is situated about 100 meters southwest of Beiwoshi West Village, Dawang Town. It spans roughly 300 meters east-west and 200 meters north-south, with a total area of about 60,000 square meters. Drilling revealed a cultural layer about 1.5 meters deep, which includes red-fired soil particles, plant ash particles, and gray pottery shards. Collected artifacts include sand-tempered jar-shaped tripod cauldrons, rim fragments of tripods, gray pottery cup rims, gray pottery gui pedestals, bean-shaped dish fragments, cord-marked gray pottery li tripod feet, li tripod rim fragments, and gray pottery vessel bases. Based on these artifacts, the site is inferred to be a cultural relic from the Longshan Culture of the Neolithic Age to the Han Dynasty, spanning a long period and providing important evidence for studying the cultural sequence of the region during that time.
