Dongwoshi Site

The Dongwoshi Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangrao County.

The Dongwoshi Site is situated about 100 meters west of Dongwoshi Village, covering an area of roughly 350 meters east-west and 300 meters north-south, with a total area of about 105,000 square meters. The site has abundant surface relics. Drilling surveys have revealed a cultural layer about 1.3 meters deep, containing materials such as red fired soil particles, plant ash, and pottery shards. Surface-collected specimens include sandy clay gray pottery li tripod feet with rope patterns, li rim fragments, gray clay jar shards, gray clay dou vessel base pieces, gray pottery pot rim fragments, sandy red pottery fragments, fabric-patterned tile remnants, sandy red pottery fragments, white-glazed porcelain shards, among others. A complete gray pottery bowl excavated from the site has also been collected. Based on these samples, it is inferred that the site contains cultural remains from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Han Dynasty, and from the Song Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty—indicating a long period of continuity and providing valuable evidence for studying the cultural sequence of the region during those times.
