The HowToTrip Cactus & Succulent Cultural Tourism Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction. Located in Guangrao County, Dongying City—the hometown of the military strategist Sun Wu—east of the city and opposite the Huatai Sunwu Lake Hot Spring Resort Hotel, it is now a national 3A-level tourist attraction. The area is a comprehensive industrial base that integrates the cultivation of cactus and succulent plants, tourism, educational development, wholesale and retail, agricultural picking, leisure vacations, catering and entertainment, health care, gardening design, and educational practice. With an investment of 100 million yuan and covering an area of over 160 acres, it houses 11 high-standard temperature-controlled greenhouses spanning a total of 60,000 square meters. The site features over 400 varieties of cactus and succulent plants, producing 36 million plants annually, making it one of China’s well-known large-scale production and supply bases for such plants.

The tourism area covers a total area of over 160 acres, with a cumulative investment of nearly 96 million yuan. It includes 11 high-standard temperature-controlled greenhouses, with a total area of over 90,000 square meters, and offers more than 400 varieties of cactus and succulent plants, producing 36 million plants per year. Since its establishment, the area has adhered to principles of high starting points, high standards, standardized management, and honest operation. It enjoys a strong reputation among consumers and has grown into a well-known large-scale cactus and succulent production and supply base in China. It maintains good cooperative relationships with major domestic e-commerce platforms selling such plants. The company has set up distribution centers in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, and has launched direct stores on Alibaba and WeChat shops, adopting an omnichannel sales model. Its annual revenue exceeds 50 million yuan.

To facilitate visitor experiences, the area has built a high-standard 3,000-square-meter exhibition hall with a pleasant environment, showcasing a rich variety of cactus and succulent species. Visitors can also participate in hands-on activities. Upon entering the base, guests can enjoy free exploration, purchase products on-site, and even experience the fun of potting their own arrangements. It has become a popular leisure destination for tourists and has received widespread acclaim.
