Cangzhou Medicine King Temple
The Cangzhou Medicine King Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.
On the mountainside east of the Imperial Mausoleum lies the Medicine King Temple. Historical records state that the temple houses a statue of the Medicine King Sun Simiao, along with statues of ten renowned physicians such as Bian Que and Hua Tuo. In front of the temple stand six towering ancient pines casting dense shade. Two guardian statues flank the entrance. Legend has it that Medicine King Sun Simiao practiced medicine in the hills nearby, leaving behind many tales of miraculous cures and life-saving treatments. The Medicine King Temple was built in the early Tang Dynasty and was later destroyed in war.
