Linqing Cultural Center

The Linqing Cultural Center is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Linqing Cultural Center is located south of Wenquan Road, east of the Grand Theater, west of Shuguang Road, and north of the Jijin River in Linqing, Shandong. It has a planned area of 8.71 hectares and a total construction area of 25,000 square meters. The Linqing Cultural Center comprises six exhibition halls: the Planning Exhibition Hall, the Cultural Center, the Museum, the General Zhang Zizhong Memorial Hall, the Mr. Ji Xianlin Memorial Hall, and the Zhang Yanqing Art Gallery. It is a large-scale landscape architectural complex that integrates various scenic elements such as exhibition venues, landscaping, water features, canal parks, and ceremonial roads.

The overall exhibition space of the Linqing Cultural Center covers 15,000 square meters. Among them, the Planning Exhibition Hall, as an important venue showcasing the urban development of Linqing, is divided into 14 exhibition areas including image display, historical evolution, and the city’s master plan. It employs 31 multimedia devices and advanced high-tech equipment to present the evolution of Linqing’s urban planning. The Museum presents the long history and cultural heritage of Linqing — a renowned ancient canal city and a millennium-old county — through a combination of thematic and unit-based displays. The General Zhang Zizhong Memorial Hall consists of five exhibition rooms: the foyer, inscribed stone gallery, life and deeds exhibition, film and video room, and calligraphy and painting dedications. The Mr. Ji Xianlin Memorial Hall displays over 200 items of photos and physical materials, along with more than 3,000 volumes of books and handwritten manuscripts of some of Mr. Ji Xianlin’s works. The Zhang Yanqing Art Gallery features nine exhibition rooms, housing over 300 fine artworks including paintings and calligraphies by Mr. Zhang Yanqing and other renowned artists, as well as over 470 various art treasures. The Cultural Center offers professional training rooms, reading rooms, multimedia classrooms, multi-function halls, sports activity rooms, game rooms, dance studios, and more. It provides the public with over 10 free cultural activities including professional training, reading, film screenings, art exhibitions, performances, and lectures. It has also established a specialized art archives room and an intangible cultural heritage physical display hall, laying a solid foundation for further developing and enriching public cultural activities. In November 2011, the Linqing Cultural Center was rated as a National-Level Cultural Center, making it the only one of its kind in Liaocheng City.
