Wenchang Temple

Located in the central area of Huashan Scenic Zone within the park, nestled in a mountain hollow at an altitude of 980 meters, according to historical records, the temple was first built during the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and served as a Taoist site. The existing structures were reconstructed in 2004, featuring a three-bay layout with a hip-and-gable double-eave roof and surrounding corridor-style architecture. The temple primarily enshrines the Wenchang Emperor, who, among the deities of Taoism, is the god governing worldly success and prosperity. Flanking him are the Heavenly Deaf, Earthly Mute, and the Seven Star Lords. Traditional temple fairs are held on the 15th day of the second and seventh lunar months each year.
