General's Forest

Located in the Ecological Sightseeing Area at an altitude of 560–580 meters, the chestnut trees in this forest were planted by students from the Senior Cadre Department of the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University during their spare time in 1941. Covering an area of 10 hectares, the trees remain healthy, standing 3–5 meters tall with a trunk diameter of about 20 cm. There are 1,100 trees that yield abundant fruit every year. After 1990, veteran students of the university would visit the forest during their trips to Xingtai to find the chestnut trees they had personally planted. It has since been honored as the General's Forest.
