Xingtai Historical and Cultural Park

Xingtai Historical and Cultural Park is located in Qiaodong District, at the southeastern corner of Xingtai’s old urban area. It faces south with its main entrance opening to Zhongxing Road to the south, adjacent to Xingzhou Road to the east and Tanhua Street to the north. The remaining section of the ancient city wall sits at a right angle in the park’s southeast direction. Originally known as People's Park, Xingtai Historical and Cultural Park was the city’s first comprehensive park.

In 2005, the municipal government relocated all animals from the park and transformed the site into a historical and cultural park. The old amusement facilities and street-front shops were demolished, and efforts were made to construct a memorial park and renovate the environment to the south and east of the ancient wall. The renovated park was completed and opened to the public in September, on the eve of the 60th anniversary of Xingtai’s liberation.
