The Zoucheng Planning Exhibition Hall is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a science education base.

The Zoucheng City Planning Exhibition Hall is one of the key projects under Zoucheng’s “3311” initiative. Construction began in August 2009. Covering an area of 28.5 mu, the hall has a construction area of 10,150 square meters and consists of four main floors. It was designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University. The exhibition is divided into various galleries including the Historical Evolution Gallery, the Master Plan Gallery, the Town and Village Planning Gallery, the Social System Planning Gallery, and the Special Resources Gallery. The functional design is comprehensive, making full use of a variety of high-tech, digital, and informational methods to fully showcase the city’s past, present, and future.

The Zoucheng City Planning Exhibition Hall is a comprehensive planning exhibition facility integrating multiple functions such as planning display, science education, specialty tourism, and business leisure. It is also one of the iconic buildings of Zoucheng. Designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University, the project had a total investment of 70 million yuan, covers an area of 28.5 mu, has a four-floor main structure, and a total construction area of 10,150 square meters. The interior decoration and exhibition setup were designed and constructed by the nationally renowned Shanghai Fengyuzhu Exhibition Co., Ltd. The project commenced construction in August 2009 and has now been completed and put into use. The planning exhibition hall employs a large number of high-tech methods, integrating modern audiovisual technologies such as laser imaging, luminous maps, electronic flip books, historical film restorations, multi-channel projections, and 4D dynamic multimedia theaters into various exhibition segments. These effectively display the historical evolution of Zoucheng. It serves as an important window that encapsulates the city’s historical development trajectory, showcases its grand future blueprint, and promotes the city’s appealing image. It is also a key venue for centrally exhibiting the city’s master plan and various planning achievements, as well as an important channel for citizens to participate in and understand urban planning. The hall plays a significant role in enhancing Zoucheng’s urban taste and strengthening the city’s influence, carrying capacity, and radiating power.

Exhibition Hall Layout:

The Zoucheng City Exhibition Hall is divided into four floors:

The first floor is the Historical Evolution Gallery, which includes exhibits such as the Yedian Site, the Ancient City of Zhu State, Confucian-Mencian Culture, an electronic flip book, a phantom imaging display, and a 4D cinema gallery. It introduces the historical footprints of Zoucheng from ancient times to the present. Through restored models of ancient scenes, combined with modern audiovisual technologies such as electronic flip books and multi-channel projections, visitors can learn about Zoucheng’s history and culture, showcasing the city’s profound cultural heritage. The biggest highlight is the 4D cinema. Developed from traditional 3D cinemas, the 4D cinema features prominent themes, high technological content, realistic effects, and strong visual impact. The extensive use of high-tech elements such as a huge screen, motion seats, and surround sound, along with carefully produced films, allows visitors to fully experience what it’s like to tour the Two Mengs Cultural Reserve, Yishan Mountain, and Mengzi Lake, or stroll through the Dongcheng New District—almost as if they are immersed in the long river of Zoucheng’s historical and cultural development, understanding the city’s historical footprints from ancient to modern times.

The second floor houses the Master Plan, Specialized Plans, Professional Planning, Economic Development Zone, and Industrial Park Galleries. The large-scale master plan sand table model is accompanied by a large LED screen. Through dynamic lighting and sound effects, it provides a comprehensive introduction to the city’s nature, functions, scale of development, historical progress, achievements, and urban positioning indicator systems.

The third floor features the Regulatory Plan, Detailed Plan, Town and Village Planning Gallery, and the 20-Year Construction Achievements Gallery. It uses exhibition boards, videos, multimedia, touch screens, models, physical objects, and various high-tech audiovisual methods to display Zoucheng’s grand future blueprint and the achievements of the city’s construction over the past 20 years.

The fourth floor is the Social System Planning Gallery, which includes the Tourism Development Plan, Industrial Planning, Market Construction Planning, and Environmental Protection Planning Galleries. It introduces Zoucheng’s economic development goals, leading industries, and industrial spatial layouts.
