Ruins of Wanzhao Temple

The ruins of Wanzhao Temple are a cultural heritage site protected by Zoucheng City.

The ruins of Wanzhao Temple are located on the western side of Gangshan Mountain, approximately 400 meters east of Cengjiagou Village. It sits on an elevated terrace, covering a total area of about 20,000 square meters. Exposed sections of the gully cliff reveal a gray ash cultural layer containing fragments of fine clay polished black pottery. Surface-collected specimens include shallow-dish gray pottery beans, flared-mouth black pottery basins, broken fragments of gray pottery jar-shaped ding vessels, as well as red pottery flat-chisel-style ding feet, gray pottery bird-head-style ding feet, and black pottery double-cockcomb-ear large-mouthed basins, all belonging to the Longshan Culture type, dating back approximately 4,000 years. In 1978, the Wanzhao Temple ruins were designated as a key cultural relics protection unit of Zouxian County.
