Zoucheng Yuhuang Mountain

Zoucheng Yuhuang Mountain is located to the north of Dayuan Village. The mountain features incense-burning gatherings, an opera stage, the Prince’s Ancestral Hall, and the Yuhuang Temple. The Yuhuang Temple is situated on the sunny slope of the mountain. Legend has it that during the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang’s son, Zhu Tan, was enfeoffed as the Prince of Lu and intended to build his tomb here. Li Guangdi from Dayuan Village, in an effort to prevent the construction of the tomb, built a small shed on the sunny side of the mountain at night. He wrote the three characters “Yuhuang Temple” on bricks and placed them inside the shed. The next day, the tomb builders discovered the Yuhuang Temple and believed they could not occupy land belonging to the Jade Emperor, so they relocated the tomb site to the sunny side of Jiulong Mountain. The villagers then built the Yuhuang Temple there, and the mountain subsequently became known as Yuhuang Mountain.

Dayuan Village: Dayuan Village in Zhongxin Dian Town, Zoucheng City, is located northeast of the town center, about 10 kilometers from the town government. The village has 660 households, a population of 2,350, and 3,120 mu of arable land, averaging 1.3 mu of farmland per person. The area is suitable for growing crops such as wheat and corn. In recent years, under the leadership of the town’s Party committee and government, the village Party branch and village committee have earnestly implemented the Scientific Outlook on Development, striving to develop agricultural production and focusing on tasks such as environmental sanitation improvement, family planning, and social stability. Last year, the per capita net income of farmers in the village was 8,200 yuan, and the participation rate in the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme reached 99%.
