Zoucheng Jade Emperor Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Jade Emperor Temple is located on the sunny slope of Mount Yuhuang. Legend has it that during the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang’s son Zhu Tan was enfeoffed as the Prince of Lu and intended to build his mausoleum on this mountain. Li Guangdi from Dayuan Village, in an attempt to stop this, built a small shed on the sunny side of the mountain at night and placed a brick inscribed with the three characters “Jade Emperor Temple” inside. The next day, those constructing the tomb discovered the Jade Emperor Temple and believed that they could not occupy land belonging to the Jade Emperor, so they relocated the mausoleum to the sunny side of Jiulong Mountain. Later, villagers built a real temple, “Duoyun Palace,” on the site of the original shed, enshrining a statue of the Jade Emperor and having Taoist priests reside there.
