Dragon Mountain Jade Emperor Hall

Dragon Mountain Jade Emperor Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

Dragon Mountain is located in the southern part of Xiangcheng Town, at the border between Zoucheng and Tengzhou cities. The mountain stretches for dozens of miles from its peak eastward and westward, undulating like a giant dragon lying with its head raised, hence the name Dragon Mountain. Part of the Yishan Mountain range, Dragon Mountain has an elevation of 415 meters, features over 10 peaks of varying sizes, and covers an area of 11 square kilometers. The "Jade Emperor Hall" on Dragon Mountain was first built in the third year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1630), originally consisting of two architectural complexes: the Jade Emperor Temple and the Guan Yu Temple. The structures were grand in scale and rigorously laid out. Due to years of neglect, most of the buildings collapsed, leaving only the Jade Emperor Hall. The Jade Emperor Hall is entirely constructed of stone, faces south, and covers a construction area of 40 square meters. It is a rare example of Ming Dynasty stone carving architecture and was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of Jining City in the 1980s.

The town has a population of 84,000, covers an area of 177 square kilometers, and governs 100 administrative villages. In 2003, the total rural economic income of the town was 322.64 million yuan, fiscal revenue was 22.64 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2,960 yuan.
