The ruins of Kaiyuan Temple in Zoucheng is a cultural tourism attraction.

The ruins of Kaiyuan Temple are located south of Dayan Village in Zhangzhuang Town. It was a Buddhist monastery known as "Juyue Mountain Kaiyuan Chan Temple," also called "Langong Chan Temple," named after the Eastern Jin Dynasty monk Langong, who once resided and practiced meditation here. The temple complex was grand in scale, with a saying that one could "ride a horse through three gates." There were over ten stone steles and a stone sculpture group over ten feet tall, all of which were destroyed in the early years of the People’s Republic of China. Kaiyuan Temple covered an area of about 700 square meters, and the compound originally housed the Mahavira Hall and three layers of steles. Backed by Phoenix Mountain, the site appeared even more solemn and majestic. To the north of the original village was the Kaiyuan Temple Stupa Forest, which included one stele and 13 stupas, covering an area of over 10 acres. The stupa forest was grand in scale and unique in style, with most of the bases carved in the form of lotus petals.

Dayan Village: Introduction to Dayan Village

Dayan Village is located in the northeastern part of Zhangzhuang Town, covering an area of 1.06 square kilometers, with 620 mu of arable land. The village has a population of 505 residents; the village committee consists of 5 members, and there are 13 Party members. The village mainly grows peanuts and sweet potatoes. In 2012, the village collective economic income was 0.268 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 7,930 yuan.
