The Taierzhuang War History Exhibition Hall serves as a patriotic education base and a national defense education base.

The Taierzhuang War History Exhibition Hall is built upon the Taierzhuang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery. Established in 1951 by the People's Government of Lanling County, it is located in the middle section of Wenhua Road in the Taierzhuang District, at the center of the district’s administrative area. It has now become one of the larger-scale, more content-rich, and better-equipped patriotic, revolutionary tradition, and national defense education bases in southern Shandong and northern Jiangsu.

Over the years, the Taierzhuang War History Exhibition Hall (Taierzhuang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery) has fully leveraged its role as a patriotic education base, making positive contributions in honoring martyrs and educating the public. It has successively signed co-construction agreements with over 50 surrounding government agencies, enterprises, institutions, military units, and schools. Various ceremonies such as party admissions, league initiations, and team inductions are held here. Each year, it receives over 100,000 young students, government officials, and members of the public from the local area and neighboring regions including southern Shandong, northern Jiangsu, northern Henan, and northern Anhui for visits and tributes. In 2001, it was designated as a provincial-level martyrs’ memorial building protection unit by the provincial government; in 2006, it was recognized as a provincial-level patriotic education base by the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department; in 2007, it was established as a provincial-level Party member education base by the Provincial Party Committee Organization Department; in 2009, it was awarded the title of “March 8th Red Banner Collective” by Zaozhuang City; in November 2010, it was designated as a Zaozhuang City Patriotic Education Base for Caring for the Next Generation; from 2007 to 2012, it was consecutively awarded the title of Zaozhuang City “Youth Civilization Unit” for six years; in 2013, it was designated as a “Double Support Education Base” by the District Party Committee and District Government.

The entire War History Exhibition Hall covers an area of 100 mu, divided into five parts: Hero Square, War History Exhibition Hall, National Defense Education Park, Zhuangguo Garden, and the Film and Video Hall.

Hero Square spans an area of 1,500 square meters and is mainly built for tourist gatherings and group activities. At the center of the square stands a Revolutionary Martyrs’ Monument, which is 31.8 meters tall. The front of the monument bears the eight characters “Revolutionary Martyrs Live Forever” in Chairman Mao’s handwriting, while the back is inscribed with an epitaph written by General Zhang Zhen, former Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission.

To the north of Hero Square is the main structure of the Taierzhuang War History Exhibition Hall — the War History Exhibition Hall. It is divided into three exhibition rooms. The first room displays battles that took place in Taierzhuang during ancient and modern times; the second room showcases battles that occurred in the Taierzhuang area during the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War; the third room is the Heroes’ Figures Room.

The National Defense Education Park covers an area of 20 mu, featuring major structures such as a large weapons exhibition platform and a weapons exhibition room. On the large weapons exhibition platform are displayed large military equipment used by our army during wartime, including aircraft, artillery, and tanks. The weapons exhibition room has a construction area of 300 square meters, and inside the exhibition hall are vividly realistic military sand tables for land, sea, and air forces. Among the exhibits are the “Steel Fortress” tank, the “Sea Behemoth” warship, the “Blue Sky Eagle” aircraft, and the “Modern Warfare Darling” missile, among others.

Zhuangguo Garden mainly consists of a miniature Great Wall landscape, interactive exhibits, a martyrs’ monument, a reconstructed stele, and a moat. The miniature Great Wall landscape is 240 meters long and 6 meters high, modeled after the Badaling Great Wall. It is lifelike and majestic, symbolizing China’s strength and the might of its national defense.

The Film and Video Hall introduces the war history of Taierzhuang and its current prosperity through the screening of precious battlefield documentary footage and interviews with veterans. The venue also features interactive exhibits that allow visitors to personally operate and experience the thrill of battle.

Today, the Taierzhuang War History Exhibition Hall boasts majestic architecture, a unique style, lush pines and cypresses, blooming flowers, an elegant environment, and pleasant scenery. It serves as an ideal destination that integrates reverence, education, and tourism. It will forever commemorate the heroic deeds and noble spirit of the martyrs, shining through the ages and passing on to future generations.

1. Zaozhuang Railway Station is served by high-speed trains connecting Beijing South, Shanghai Hongqiao, Tianjin West, Nanjing South, Jinan West, Qingdao, Hangzhou, and Xuzhou East. Travelers from these areas can conveniently travel via the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. Zaozhuang West Railway Station is serviced by trains to and from major provincial capitals within and outside Shandong Province.

2. Zaozhuang does not have its own airport. Travelers may use airports in Linyi (Shandong), Xuzhou Guanyin, or Lianyungang Baitabu. After arriving at the airport, transfer to other modes of transportation to reach Taierzhuang. Travelers with the means may also drive. Internal Transportation
