Jiujiang Folk Museum

Jiujiang Folk Museum is the only thematic museum in northern Jiangxi dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and researching folk culture. It is a public welfare category I institution under the Jiujiang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Press. Since its establishment in 1979, the museum has continuously innovated its exhibition formats, enriched its content, and expanded its educational functions, enabling the general public to enjoy more cultural benefits.

The museum currently houses over 10,000 cultural relics, among which a collection of precious artifacts — represented by the silk decree issued in the 12th year of the Zhengde era (1517) of the Ming Dynasty, a national first-class relic — holds significant academic research value and provides a rich physical resource for studying the local folk culture of Jiujiang.

In recent years, the museum has accurately positioned itself and successively launched distinctive special exhibitions such as the “Collection Highlights Exhibition,” “Hundred Teapots Exhibition,” “A Brief History of Modern Foreign Firms in Jiujiang,” “Northern Jiangxi Folklore Exhibition,” “Hundred Springs Exhibition,” and “Elegant Strokes – Hundred Plates Exhibition,” playing a positive role in promoting outstanding traditional culture.
