Rao Shoukun Cultural Park

Rao Shoukun Cultural Park is located in the Tianmen Mountain area in the northwest of Dexing City. The park connects to Yinshan North Road to the east, borders the Jishui River to the south, links to Park Road to the west, and adjoins Outer Ring West Road to the north. The widest part of the park is approximately 917 meters, with a planned total area of about 39.3 hectares.

The park fully integrates the principles of ecology, artistry, and human-centered design with the politics, economy, culture of Dexing City as well as the park’s environment, striving to create a commemorative-themed park with distinctive features of Dexing.

Rao Shoukun Park is planned with two main tourist routes and six functional zones.

Two main tourist routes:

1. Red Tourism Route: Starts from the secondary park entrance on the east side, ascending the mountain and passing through the Glory Pavilion, Martyrs’ Memorial Tower, Hexagonal Memorial Pavilion, Quadrangular Pavilion, Red Square, Stone Gate Memory Plaza, Observation Deck, and Sparking the Prairie Fire, all the way to the main park entrance. It showcases ten stages of Dexing’s history from revolutionary uprisings to its liberation.

2. Cultural Leisure Route: Follows the main road that runs through each zone of the park.

Six functional zones — Main Entrance Area, Red Memory Garden, Red Celebrity Garden, Secondary Entrance Area, Red Culture Garden, and Red Outlook Garden.

1. Main Entrance — Song of Battle

(Including the park commercial district, entrance plaza, Avenue of Flames, Victory Plaza, Azalea Garden, Military Adventure Zone), located on the west side of the park.

2. Red Memory Garden — Sparking the Prairie Fire

This garden is developed by deepening the existing tourist route. This zone mainly reflects the course of Dexing’s revolution, presented through landscaping techniques, arranged chronologically and connected by Memory Stones. Based on historical events, ten incidents and nine points are highlighted. (Including Glory Pavilion, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Memorial Tower, Red Archway, Hexagonal Memorial Pavilion, Quadrangular Pavilion, Red Square, Stone Gate Memory Plaza, Observation Deck, Sparking the Prairie Fire)

3. Red Celebrity Garden

(Including Celebrity Garden, Eco Garden, Riverside Park)

Celebrity Garden — Features bronze sculptures, relief walls, and scenic stones, representing heroic figures of the revolutionary period through individual stories.

Eco Garden — Includes Autumn Lake, along which are arranged Peace Plaza, “Generals Ceasefire,” Sunset Dance Floor, Fish Joy Corridor, and Wooden Boardwalk.

Riverside Park — Located on the flat land in the southeast corner of the park, currently residential area, which can be planned as a riverside park after demolition.

4. Secondary Entrance

The secondary entrance is located on the east side of the park. The design adjusts the original environment. The entrance faces due east and is a square plaza. Upon entering, visitors see a bronze statue of General Rao Shoukun surrounded by flowers, with a fountain pool behind the statue. Behind the statue is the Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, surrounded by eighteen relief stone blocks.

5. Red Culture Garden

Located in the northeast corner of the park. Enter from the Red Square along a path, passing by Flame Cannon Platform, Yongning Tower, Revolutionary Poetry Recital, Revolutionary Poetry Stele Forest, Cultural Plaza, and Life Quotations.

6. Red Outlook Garden

Located in the open area of the northeast corner of the park, including the Pioneer Century Garden and the park’s secondary entrance.
